Kenritsu Ikaho Shinrin Kouen (Gunma Prefectural Ikaho Forest Park)

Kenritsu Ikaho Shinrin Kouen is a huge public park, 2.9 kilometers west-east and 1.9 kilometers north-south.  It is located in the middle is the Futatsudake mountain.  The park is also a historic district with beautiful seasonal views of trees and flowers.  Enjoy the great natural setting, complete with the music of wild birdsongs.

Tanashita Fudou Taki (Tanashita Fudou Fall)

Tanashita Fudou Taki is a beautiful waterfall that has been selected as one of the best falls in Japan for its inspiring sight of the rush of the 37 meter waterfall.  The precipice from which the water falls is formed from the original lava of Mt. Akagi. There is a cave made from fallen rocks behind the falls, so you can enjoy watching the waterfall from behind!

Shikishima Kinmeichiku (Shikishima Gold-lined Bamboo)

Shikishima Kinmeichiku, a national treasure, is a name of precious bamboos in the Yawata Shirine. A variation of bambusoides, Shikishima Kinmeichiku has not only a typical green trunk but also has beautiful golden lines in every other joint. The contrast of green and gold is amazingly beautiful!

Himegifu-chou (Luehdorfia puziloi - Papilionidae)

Himegifu-chou, the beautiful swallowtail butterfly, is a national treasure and is also known as the spring goddess, and Akagi Hime, the princess of Akagi. In April and May, butterflies are plentiful around Mt. Akagi, announcing the coming of spring.

Numaogawa Shinsui Kouen (Numao River Park)

Numaogawa Shinsui Kouen, placed along the banks of the Numao River, is a wonderful leasure spot. There is a variety of camping amenities such as camp sites, BBQ sites and lodges. You can also enjoy an 80 meter long loop slide!

Akagi Camp Jo (Akagi Camp Site)

Located at the height of 900 meters, Akagi Camp Jo is a camping area with beautiful highland trees such as Japanese cedars, larches, white birches and beech trees. Tents, lodges, hot showers, a common cooking space and other amenitiess are available. The mountain trail goes from the camp site to Mt. Suzugatake. On the top of the mountain, you’ll be surrounded by a beautiful view of the entire Kanto area.

Iwai-do (Iwai Temple)

One of the 33 sacred sites of Agatsuma Kannon, Iwaidou is a rock-hewn temple, accessible by ladder for worship.  On the top of its mountain, there are interesting-shaped rocks and a panoramic view.  The mountain trail with its golden ladders will help you to arrive at the top.

Shishiiwa (Lion Rock)

Shishiiwa, meaning the rock of Leo, is a cylinder-shaped rock tower.  It is 100 meters tall and 150 meters in diameter. Shishiiwa was originally a part of the crater of the Komochi volcano. On the top of the tower, there is a panoramic view of the Kanto Plain including the winding Tone River and its ring of mountain peaks. The tower is also known as Daikokuiwa.

Bando Komochi Touki Tsuriba (Bando Komochi Winter Fishing Spot)

Bando Komochi Touki Tsuriba is a winter fishing spot that opens only from the 2nd Saturday of October to the end of February every year,.  The fishing license is reasonabuly priced and it is said that it is a great place to catch big fish. You can understand why this is a spot that fishing enthusiasts visit regularly.

Atagoyama Furusato Kouen (Atagoyama Hometown Park)

Find the monument of the sun! This is a landmark of Atagoyama Furusato Kouen. In the park there are many facilities and places where you can relax and play. There is a beautiful Japanese garden, a playground for kids, a watermill, a sightseeing tower with an intriguing binocular telescope, a tennis court and a place for Japanese-style archery.  Next to the park is a quiet pond, Makabe adjustment pond, which is famous for the bird watching. You can watch many kinds of migrant birds such as spot-billed ducks, dun birds and tundra swans. You can also see great fireworks in the summer.

Shibukawa Sougo Kouen (Shibukawa Comprehensive Park)

Shibukawa Sougo Kouen is a park of great natural beauty, with walkways and artistic sculptures.  People of all ages can enjoy the natural setting of sweet birdsongs in the park. In the spring and summer, people enjoy the enchanting beauty of cherry blossoms and hydrangeas. The park is also used as a venue for the bird and outdoor tours.

Uenoyama Kouen (Uenoyama Park)

If you ride the Ikaho Ropeway to the top, Uenoyama Kouen, a natural mountain park, will greet you. Here, you can relax with your family at places like Wanpaku Hiroba (Kids’ square), Momiji Hiroba (Maple Square) and Miharashi Tenbodai (a viewing deck).
